Hi M-Teamers,
Today is September 11th. When you were three years old, the World Trade Center (twin towers) in New York went down due to terrorists. Today, our flags are flown at half mast to respect those who died in such a tragic way. It is also to honor those who risked their lives (and gave their lives) to rescue people from the towers.
When we say the pledge of allegiance to the flag, I've encouraged you to show respect and honor for those who have fought for our country and endured challenging times. I've talked about how there are many reasons to show respect for our flag. What reasons would you give? What does the flag mean to you?
I'm excited to see what you say and later discuss during our social studies time!

I think we should all show respect and be serious when we say the pledge of allegiance because many people are risking their lives just so that our country can have peace. They are risking their lives so that we can go to school and have freedom.
To me the flag means respect. I think everyone should show respect to the flag 2 because its a symbol of or freedom and the people how died or risked there life 4 all of us or risking thier life 4 us right now.
Some reasons we should respect the American Flag and the pledge of allegiance are we respect the flag because there are soilders in Iraq right now fighting so we can have freedom and not get terroized from other countries.
What the flag means to me is serious stuff and NOT goofy stuff so you should respect the pledge of allegance like you respect your elders.

To me the flag means honoring the people who died to save someone else. There are also people who died in the twin towers and we are honoring them, too. I think we should be very serious when we say the pledge of allegiance because so many people died for our freedom.
I think we should show respect when we say the Pledge of Allegiance because we're respecting our country and respecting all the people who risk their lives everyday to protect us and so we could have freedom. We also respect all the fallen soldiers who died in combat when we say the pledge.
The reasons I would give would be for the men who fought WW1,WW2,and all the other wars. To me the flag means alot because in Boy Scouts if you let the flag touch the ground you would have to do about 50 push-ups
I think we should all show respect when we say the pledge of allegiance because we are honering eyeryone that risked their lives so we can have freedom
We should feel bad for the people that died in the buildings. I think all the people should respect the flag, because people risk their lifes everyday! So, that is why we should be thankful for all the happiness we have! That is why we do the pledge of allegiance everyday. That is how I feel about September 11.
I think when we do the pledge of allegiance tells us that we should always respect it so the people that risk their lives for us can get what they deserve.When I was watching the History Channel I saw some videos of the twin towers when they got hit and how the people reacted.I also saw the people in the twin towers sat on their window to get help and they were also really hot.It was so sad my hands were like sweating crazy!I also heard the word debris.

I think we all should use our freedom wisely. Being respectful when saying the Pledge of Allegence shows that you have respect to those who risk their own lives each and every day. We are lucky to have the freedom to say no unlike people in communist countries.
I think we should respect the flag because each day their is always someone who risks their lives or dies to protect and serve our country.

When we say the pledge of alligience,we have to believe what we're saying and mean it.Every other day,someone might have risked their lives just to save their country and their people.It's sad that they have to leave their family,but it's good that they saved their country.
The pledge of alligance along with the flag is a reminder to all US citizens and immigrants to stand pridefull of our county. That we have liberty of speech, voting. We also have a justice system that is fair.
i think we should show honor to the flag because when we say the pledge of allegiance we are showing respect for all the people who risk their lives everyday to make our country a better place.
To me it means honor, when we say the pledge we are honoring the people that risk there lives each day!
