Tornado Challenge!

Dear kids that I love,
Do you know or can you find the answer to the following questions? These are the ones you asked before our story, "Eye of the Storm!" See how much you've learned or what questions you still have!

Q #1: How do funnel clouds form?
Q #2: What technology does Warren Faidley use?
Q #3: Has Warren Faidley ever been caught in a tornado?
Q #4: What was the deadliest tornado ever recorded?
Q #5: What do you do when a tornado hits?

Show me how much you know by answering these questions. Even if someone has already posted, I'd like to hear your thoughts, too!

The deadliest tornado ever recorded was the 1999 Oklahoma tornado. It was a F5 on the scale.
66 tornadoes broke out in Oklahoma and Kansas. It lasted from May 3 until May 6, 1999.

When a tornado hits, you should listen for a siren(not sure if i spelled it right). Then, when you do hear a siren, you should hide in a basement and stay there until the rumbilling stops.

I have the answer to #5. When a tornado hits, you go down to a basement or somewhere low to stay safe and you don't come out until it's safe.

The Great Tri-State Tornado of Wednesday, March 18, 1925, crossed from southeastern Missouri, through southern Illinois, then into southwestern Indiana, and was the deadliest tornado in U.S. history. With 695 confirmed fatalities, the tornado killed more than twice as many as the second deadliest, the 1840 Great Natchez Tornado. The continuous ≥219 mile (≥352 km) track left by the tornado was the longest ever recorded in the world. It is recognized as an F5 tornado, the maximal damage rating issued on the Fujita scale

The deadliest recorded tornado is the Tri-State Tornado on March 18, 1925

Missouri, Illinois and Indiana were all affected by the Tri-State tornado. The funnel first touched ground in Ellington Missouri and headed eastward through Annapolis, Leadanna, Lixville, Biehle and Frohna. As the tornado left the Ozarks, it began to pick up speed. Illinois was hit the worst and suffered high death tolls in Gorham, Murphysboro, Desoto, Parrish and West Frankfort. The tornado continued through Indiana and struck the towns of Griffin and Princeton. Finally the tornado dissipated northeast of Princeton.

Death toll: 695
Injuries: 2027

Hi Mrs.Martin! These are the answers I think are correct for each question.
#1:Funnel clouds form when hot and cold air are mixed together.
#2:The technology Warren Faidly uses are mostly cameras to take pictures and radios to know where the tornado is.
#3:I don't think Warren has EVER got caught in a tornado because if he injured his arm,he wouldn't be able to take pictures and he could have died.
#5:When you hear a warning that a tornado was coming, you should go into the basement. If you don't have a basement, you should go into a room with no windows in it.
ByeBye.
