Hey wonderful kids,
What do you think happened to the people at Roanoke? Did they leave because they wanted to, were they taken captive or did they die? Remember they were hungry and were expecting a ship to come back within six months bringing more food. Unfortunately, we know it took 3 years! Did they give up? Did they starve?

I think the people at Roanoke ran out of supplies and died. Their skin must have rotted away and one day when the Indians were hunting, they found bones. The Indians must have taken the bones and used them as tools. Three years passed... John White came back. "What the...?!!!" he said. :)

i think they were captured by indians or they were become canables and ate each other even the bones and organs. YUCK!!! but i geuss it tastes alot better than shoes. G2g!
I think that because John White took three years to get back, the lost colony went to live with the Indians on Crotoan Island because the word Crotoan was carved on a post. It is also possible that the Indians killed the settlers in a war and threw them into the fire so that no one would know that they killed them. See you on Monday!
well I think the Indians took them and buried them in the sea so no one can find them.

Umm....I think John White went to England, reunited with his family and just forgot everything and relaxed and one day he said," Oh, I wonder how the people are doing at Roanoke." Meanwhile, the settlers died out one by one and the last one to be living burned the bodies, carved Crotoan on a post to say that they were there and then jumped into the ocean because he couldn't stand his stomach growling day after day.
I think the people of Roanoke starved or comitted suicide. They probably stole food from nearby villages and started a war that know one knows about. They comitted suiside by jumping in rivers and drowning or killing themselves with hunting knifes and by eating other villagers by cooking them or eating them raw. Hi! I think that indians saw that there leader was gone and thought it was a good time to attak and use there bones, skin, and everything else! John probably had to persuade the King or Queen for loads of supplies and a trip back!
I thind the people died and their skin rotted away.Before they died people on Ranoke island stole the indians food sooo when they died the indians wanted payback so they burned them up and turned them into ashes.Then the ashes were either thrown into the sea or buried.

I think the people in the settlement were attacked by the Spanish and the English and they took refuge with the Croation Indians. They wrote Croation on the post because they were thankful to the Indians.
I think that the people at the Lost Colony were gone because the Indians captured them and then use their bones for tools or burned them.

Hi Mrs.Martin!I think the people at Roanoke died from hunger and diseases. I can't even survive for a day without food.Imagine having no food for 3 years!I bet the indians took their bones and used them as tools.Bye Mrs.Martin!
