Figures of Speech
We've got our test tomorrow... so show me what you know! Think of a good example of either a hyperbole, idiom, personification, metaphor, simile or alliteration. Tell us which one you choose and then give the example. Hopefully we all check tonight and get some more studying in! :)

A hyperbole on such bad grades a baby could do better than you
idiom-it's raining cats and dogs!
metaphor-My cat is my soft pillow
simile-I am as fast as lightning!
personification-the wind whispers in my ear
hyperbole-I love writing sooo much,I wrote thousands of books in a day
alliteration-Fun Frank followed frustrated Feny for fun.

A simile is the cat is fat as a cow.A hyperbole is I'm so smart I could get a thousand A+ for my grades.A metaphor is my classroom is a zoo.A personification is the wind yells while blowing.A idiom is butterflies in my stomach.A alliteration is you'll never put a better bit of butter on your knife.That is all the figurative language.

Hyperbole: I jumped so high that I touched the stars.
Alliteration: Doris likes to dine with dinosaurs.

um we took the test today and i got 100%. im happy we all did well, well except for steven. i g2g but please post again soon!
Personification: The sun kissed the dew off the grass.
Metaphor: Her teeth are pearls.
Simile: The cheetah ran as fast as a bolt of lightning.
Alliteration: Tommy's typewriter.
Hyperbole: The radio was so loud, it was louder than a lion's roar.
Idiom: Take a bull by it's horns.
Alliteration-Bonny Baker was baking bitter batter but Billy Bolly Bluecose baked better batter by Bob.

Hi Mrs. Martin! My legs are still hurting from Friday. Mrs. De Anda told my mom that there was going to be a tie-breaker against me and Erin sometime when school gets back in. So, i'm just running and exercising to get ready for the big day!
