M-teamers,
Hope your 4-day weekend is going well! I'm justing getting ready to write your report cards! :) Of course, before doing what I really have to do, I'm going to add a new post here, and check email! :)
We've been talking about explorers and the first encounters they had with the Native American Indians. We started reading a picture book called, Encounter, and had to stop just as the little American Indian boy was trying to persuade his chief to not welcome these strangers.
What would you do, if you were that boy. How would you persuade your chief? Would you welcome the strangers with all their new and exciting things they brought, or would you attack them?
Come up with your most persuasive answer, if you can!
See you Wednesday!

just to let u no that i have no answer!!!!:)
i would tell the cheif that in my dream the took everthing then killed us all then left with all our stuff
Hi Mrs.Martin! My 4-day weekend is fabulous so far!! Last night my family went to a restruant and ate dinner. Then I got to watch tv until eleven!(I lost track of time). Anyways, first of all, I would tell my chief all the negative things that could happen, such as war and stealing. Then, I would tell him that they are strangers and we don't know what they would do to us. Finally, I would tell my chief about the dream that I had. I would tell about the dream last because if I told the dream first, then the chief would probabaly not pay much attention because its just a dream. The cheif also said in the book that children have nightmares all the time. That shows that the chief doesn't really care about dreams.
ooops I spelled "it's" wrong and "chief" wrong!!!!
Hello Mrs. Martin, on my trip I also got to see the grand canyon!!! It was, i think, an hour away so we went. It was GIANT!! I also got to see these mountains that were a perfect red, my mother told me I will probably not see those types of rocks anywhere else.
Hi.Mrs.Martin!If I was that little boy I would of told my cheif that people aren't always nice.Sometimes people are mean.
I would tell the chief to not welcome the new "people" because I had the a strange dream that they would wipe out our whole tribe! By the way chief, those things the new "people" gave us could be a trap to take over our land! Hope your 4 day weekend is great Mrs. Martin! M-Team Rocks!
HI MRS. MARTIN IF I WAS THAT LITTLE BOY I WOULD HAVE TOLD THEM THEY ARE MEAN AND NOT NICE BYE
oops i did not say chief
Hiiiiiiiiiiiii
If I was the little boy, I would say,"Why do you think they are good people? Prove to me that they are nice. Even if they look nice, take a look from another point of view. What if they are bad? What if they are trying to set a trap for us? Plus, looking nice doesn't mean they really are nice. We had experience with nice people that look kind of like us but these people look different. They look suspicious."
I won't mention the dream because the chief already made trash of it. If the chief doesn't listen, then I would just say,"I hope you don't regret your choice." Then I would steal some food, a few blankets, and one or two items for trade and run away to be safe. Then I would walk until I reached a welcoming tribe and tell them everything and try to convince them to come with me to spy on the new people until I find out for sure whether the people are nice or not. Mrs. Martin,if you were the boy, what will you have done?
p.s.I forgot to say that on the way, I would eat the food when I was hungry and use the blankets for a bed. I would use the trade items to trade for food if I ever ran out of it.
Hi, Mrs.Martin. My weekend is going very well. Yesterday, I went to my pastor's house to eat dinner. It was delicious! Tomorrow, I'm going to Long Beach to eat at Parker's Lighthouse with my family. So, if I was that boy, I would tell the chief I had a strange dream about the tribe wiped out.
Happy Veteran's Day, Mrs. Martin!
Hi, Mrs. Martin! Let's just say my four -day weekend was okay. Only some things bother me. Well, back to topic. If I were to persuade my chief to make the Indians come, I will tell my chief to make them come because we could learn people's religous language and could learn how they grow different crops and flowers. However, the monochromatic faces might not represent they are nice people to be with. They might possibly steal their jewelries and other belongings and food that are vital. If I had dream about the Indeians doing bad stuff, the chief might not listen and turn away. They might even be in a disguise and people will start getting suspicious. Although two sides are arguing in which to welcome the new Indians or not, I should go in the side that people will welcome the new Indians and not worry about it. I hope you have a great day doing report cards. Is it tiring? If it does, we are soo so sorry.
Um... if you don't know what "monochromatic" means, it means to have only one feature or texture.
my 4 day weekend was great! i went on Las Vegas and came back yesterday! if i were the boy i would test the people and see if they are bad or not.
If I were the little boy I would tell the chief" I can tell the future... they are going to betray us and then they are going to steal all our riches and leave us poor."
Happy Veterans Day Mrs. Martin!! I hope I got a good grade on my report card!
If I were an indian boy, I would tell my chief that their riches were things to lure us and they were intruders! I would attack!
valerie here i would not have let those strangers come because they were very difrent stangers.
